Functional Potential of Adjective Word Forms in Russian

Purpose . Analysis of literature on Russian morphology revealed the problems related to functional potential adjective word-forms and morphological content indeclinable nouns. There are three viewpoints features substantives: 1) they have categories types, numbers, cases, while number case appear as homonymous forms with zero ending; 2) all presented used inflection adjectival words; 3) these substantives no but their syntactic meanings. The article's purpose is determine functions word in combination inflected substantives, specifying ones. Results Adjectives declinable nouns perform structural function agreement gender, number, case. However, when combined two-generic words, lose generic agreement. Adjective inflections express meanings structure itself; same-name dominant only reflect meanings, being material indicator. With nouns, agree by also just an indicator it. Indeclinable substantive independently quantitative without participation a substantive.
